The house was in a great location close to everything we wanted to see and do. We also had another family staying in the house across the street for the week so it was great to be able to just walk across the street to borrow something that we needed and visa versa. The light on the deck off the dining room was burnt out, which was unfortunate since we spent a lot of time out there. The garage door opener was not working, so there was only the one key. There were ants in the closets. The futons were very uncomfortable to sleep on if you are over the age of 10. The top oven was not heating properly. In general the place could use some upgrades. We are not picky and we didn't let any of those things impact the great time that we had. I would stay here again even with no changes or upgrades.

The house is very spacious in a good location. It is close to several beaches. Cayucas, Pismo, Moral Rock and San Simion just to name a few. With plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. There were a few minor things not working properly or messed up. Like a closet door did not open correctly. One stove top burner did not turn on but no big problem the other three worked. A few lawn chairs were broken and could use better cleaning but they were usable. I was impressed with the new hand soap and dish soap provided in every bathroom and the kitchen. The home had plenty of clean sheets, towels and blankets. Plus a fairly new washer and dryer. Bring your own laundry soap though. The condition of this house was fair and has normal wear and tear but it was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed playing pool, ping pong and using the exercise equipment. Games, puzzles, internet and a T.V. was also available for use but we really did not have enough time to utilize them. Also plenty of dishes and kitchen items. Bring your own silver ware. There was a freezer and refrigerator for use. Make sure not to confuse them. Not all cell phones got service in the area but some of us were able to use them. We had a great time and hope to go back. We recommend this house for your weekend get away or any get away. Awesome fun place to stay!

This was a great house for our weekend stay in Cambria. It was located near our event and convenient for both the beach and downtown. This was the best stocked kitchen we have ever rented as far as dishes, pots/ pans, etc. We loved the fireplace. Our only complaints were that the top oven and left burners did not work. That wasn't a problem for us, but if we had a bigger crowd, it might have been. We would definitely rent this home again.

Our family was attending a wedding in town and we decided to rent this house for 2 nights. The size of the house was perfect for our family. It has a large kitchen with a view of the hills. The teenagers enjoyed the pool table. Our overall stay was great. There are just a couple details that could be changed. For example, some of the furniture is a little dated and the carpets have stains on them. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

The Mills Street house has fit our needs for the last five years. The view of the coastal mts. Is spectacular. The shore is within walking distance for those willing to hike a bit. The facilities in the house are ideally suitable for our family of nine, especially the five bedrooms, the library, the pool room, the TV lounge area, the garage, the many decks, the WI-FI, the dining area.

This was a great place! Easy to find, close to shopping, eating in the immediate area and not far to drive into other towns like Cayucos, Morro Bay and San Luis. We had lots of fun traveling to see the Elephant Seals...the only problem we had was the rained off/on over the weekend, but we still were able to do things in between the showers. The house has a great layout with all bedrooms downstairs, each with a bathroom. The kitchen got quite a bit of use and there were lots of pots/pans for useage depending on the number of people you're cooking for...we had a fantastic time and would definetly recommend this home.

Being able to have four siblings and their spouses in one place for a birthday celebration was wonderful! The weather cooperated, and we were able to take time to walk along the bluffs, see Hearst Castle and the Elfin Forest, and just generally kick back and enjoy each other. The property is large enough to separate into smaller groups and have privacy for each couple. We would stay there again if the opportunity presents itself. We had trouble finding it because our GPS said it was on the left side of the street instead of the right side, but a call to the property manager was pleasant and helpful. Had a great time.

This house is great for a large family and overall it met our needs, but it could use a few fixes. There are windows and shades in the house that either don't open or don't work well and a drawer in the kitchen that's falling apart. The kitchen has a new freezer, but it isn't secured and moves when you open it. It's a beautiful home and with a little maintenance, it would be even better. It's in a quiet neighborhood and close to town. Renting was easy and simple.

This was the first time we rented a house from Coastal Escapes. It rained for most of the weekend, but because the house was big and so well divided we had a great time. We played pool and ping pong. We had plenty of room for the kids to play and watch tv. All of these things were provided. Also we had a bathroom in each bedroom which made it very convinient with little children. Stayed 3 nights at end of 2012. This home is HUGE and has lots of separate spaces for people to do their own thing. Great views of the hills. Very quiet neighborhood. The mgmt co was very nice and helpful. I have to laugh at some of these reviews that criticize minute details - this is a "rental" home folks, not a 5 star hotel in Vegas. I've rented many homes in Cambria and they all have their little problems. This house has almost none. Yeah, the kitchen appliances are a little funky, but workable. The TV isn't great, but we didn't go there to watch TV. One thing...if you like music, bring a boom box. There is literally NO stereo of any kind in the house.

Pictures do not do justice to this rental home. It is so spacious -- our family filled all the beds plus sleeping bags on the floor for grandkids and we were not crowded at all. Lots of space to get away if necessary and room for all of us to be together in the dining room or living room areas. This was our first family gathering that was not in our own home and it was fabulous!

This house has a nice open layout with the kitchen, dining room and living room all next to each other and is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to Hwy 1 and the town of Cambria. The house was clean upon arrival, but the dishes and countertops in the kitchen and dining room did have a grease-like film on the surface. The kitchen is equipped like many rental homes with a mix of different dishes, utensils, cookware and appliances. For the most part, it met our needs. The range is not fully functional with only 2 of 4 burners working and those two would not stay at temperature consistently. The freezer in the house doesn't work but there is a freezer in the garage that works fine. All bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and are furnished as described. The house does need some maintenance, but overall it is in decent condition. I would rent this home again and will recommend it to family and friends.

Loved the house it accommodated everyone, loved the fact that almost every bedroom had a bathroom. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed, could use more cutting boards. The couches are very worn out and probably need to be replaced. Freezer in the house was broken and should get fixed we had to keep going into the garage to get things. We found an old bottle with milk and an old bottle of Gatorade under one of the beds. Big ant problem in the kitchen and in two of the downstairs bedrooms. Other than that I would have given it a 5 star. I would recommend this house for family vacation.

Always love staying here. My family usually rents this property every summer since I can remember and now I rented it twice now to enjoy time with my husband's family. Love the layout of the house especially because it easily accommodates our big family and each room had a bathroom connected to it. Which is amazing for the grandparents who need one close by. Only a few minutes drive to shamel beach which is my favorite. The only thing that I would like improved for next year was that some of the stove burners do not work properly and during our stay we had a few ants. Nothing that we couldn't spray with bug spray. Overall, I love this house and recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a week with family there all together.

Our friends from back East met us in Cambria for New Year's and our two families enjoyed this home with plenty of room to spare. Great community time and also a place for quiet, personal time. Even though for the last 20 years I book a place by the ranch or the beach, I am a convert to this location. It was great being near the dog park! And I had never been to Strawberry Canyon which is breathtaking and in walking distance. There are a few little details of the house that were on the blink, but the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. I will certainly stay here again.

The smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night, waking everyone (as it should). Since it was NOT battery-operated, we had to disconnect the wiring to get back to sleep. Also, due to a MAJOR storm, we lost power for 13 hours during the day, but this gave us a chance to enjoy the wonderful fireplace and have a meal at a favorite restaurant.
This is a wonderful home. Gourmet kitchen, with mostly new appliances. The round dining table can seat about 10 comfortably (12 if slightly close). Two master bedrooms for a total of five; five and one-half baths - a luxury! This is a marvelous home that is well-kept by the management company.

We did so enjoy our stay and would return in the future if 15 of our family gather again. Repairs are needed but small issues at best. I even did some repairs myself as I like to take care of any property I use. Having a washer and dryer was so nice. Love
the master bedroom and bath. The stove needs fixing but works good enough. Management was great and great to work with. But if you want to sleep during the day, not the best room to use. It's under the living room, you can hear every step upstairs. Our family
was blessed to be there.

Lots of living space and room to play, with pool table and open space for active children. Great to have 5 1/2 bathrooms! Only issues were in the kitchen: the stove with one burner out, microwave not working, and lack of appropriate utensils for cooking and serving.

We plan to book this residence again. Our family enjoyed the great floor plan, bright and airy, instant hot water (little ones need to be aware), paper products in good supply and plenty of room.
No internet service & minimal TV channels
Items that need to be repaired or replaced:
1. replace smoke alarm in entry way(wiring exists, but no smoke alarm)
2. microwave not working
3. master sub-zero freezer does not freeze, keeps things cold so as not to spoil, ice maker does not work
4. ants minor problem
5. stove left burner heating element goes on and off
suggestions to staff:
a)guest list of items that do not work...thus eliminating calls to rental staff
b)regular glassware (plenty of stemware)
Suggestions for guests:
planning to prepare meals, bring own spices (salt, pepper etc)
A very enjoyable stay for our large party.

Coastal Escapes provided us with a top-notch, large home for our recent family reunion. This home is very well appointed - wonderful living areas, pool table, exercise room, and a bath for every room! It sleeps twelve comfortably and is in a great location. I would highly recommend this property for a larger group of people and certainly recommend Coastal Escapes for your rental needs.
