Wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful location! Charming house with everything you need if you desire to cook your own meals. As we were walking in area we saw many deer; and one actually must have jumped over our fenced yard and was resting in the foliage, loved it! Everything was great and the only suggestion we have is a King bed would be great when owner decides to replace the Queen bed in master bedroom...there is plenty of room for one as there is already a King headboard. The property is very nice and has all the amenities needed to feel like home. Having two bathrooms is a plus. The outdoor patio provides a Birdseye view of the ocean over the tree tops. The property was clean, but we did have problems with door locks. One bedroom exterior door wouldn’t lock, but we were fairly certain no one would climb the mountain to get in. There are local deer that brought smiles each time we saw them, along with turkeys and raccoons. Be aware there are exterior stairs (about 3 stories) to get to entrance.

Love this place! Great views, comfortable, inviting & in a great location. Only downside is A LOT of stairs so pack on the light side (much is already provided anyway) and, if possible, plan your days so that when you come back to the house, you’re done for the day. Early am and late afternoon/twilight you’ll probably see a lot of deer so drive carefully, they kind of “own” the roads :)

Also a good idea is to check the plates, flatware and drink ware. Seems that the dishwasher doesn’t do a great job so give those items a once over before using. You might want to hand wash them first.

The house is tucked away on the quiet end of the Marine Terrace neighborhood. Yes, there are a number of stairs to get to the door but the view and comfy feel of this home are well worth it. Pack light or do what I did and get in a work out. The kitchen is updated. Great ocean view from the main room, master bedroom and fabulous deck. The garden is large and offers many hideaway sitting spots. This is a well loved home with many books and a gas fireplace easily turned on for the cooler nights. I loved how quiet it was - only the seals barking - and enjoyed the many different plants on the deck and the birds that visited daily. I had a wonderful stay and Theresa in the office was so kind and accommodating.

I have been stay at vacation rentals in Cambria for about 20 years. This house is the best overall I've stayed in. It is very quite secluded. The landscape is incredible. Spent a lot of time out on the garden balcony. Incredible view of landscape and ocean. You can lay in bed in the master bedroom and see and hear the ocean. The living room was very comfortable with great ocean view. The gas fireplace was great to sit by with our morning coffee. Nice kitchen, very well stocked. Master bathroom has a oversized tub and shower. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the house. But, it is worth the climb. I would highly recommend this home. This will be my home to stay in every summer for vacation. Also, coastal escapes staff are wonderful and very friendly.

As a daughter of a Marine Biologist who spent many childhood days by the sea, this coastal Cambria retreat was exactly what the doctor ordered. Easy to find too! Having a "green thumb" as well, the beautiful terraced garden was icing on the cake! Although some reviews pointed out the "stairs", we didn't mind the climb. The payoff was well worth it! Having a preserve across the street versus rows and rows of little boxes was also a huge plus.

The 2.5 mile journey to downtown Cambria was also convenient. BTW: Got to stop at "Robin's" on Burton Dr. for dinner (Salmon Bisque and brussel sprouts to die for!) Hearst Castle less than 20 min away, get there at 8AM. Wineries on Hwy 46, pretty ride! Even honey tasting!

Property description was fairly accurate. Well maintained. Everything you needed. WiFi very much appreciated since there was limited cell coverage. Would have been nice to have the flat screen TV in the living room rather than the bedroom(s), but not a deal breaker.

Already have family interested in staying. Our pictures were worth a 1000 words. Best recommendation: Stay away, so we can have it to ourselves!

This was our fourth stay at this beautiful home and garden. Ocean views, quiet, and secluded. Everything in the home works and is spotless. There are quite a number of steps--around 30-40--to get to the front door, which isn't a big issue for us, but might be for someone else. At night, we can hear the surf and the sea lions in the distance--simply beautiful!

A cozy cabin like feel overlooking the ocean and pasture lands. Loved the living room with its gas fireplace, shelves of books, and oriental carpets. A more modern feel to the master bedroom and bathroom (bath room door unusual - opaque glass!). All in all a very wonderful experience. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The only problem we had was we didn't stay long enough. Out of all the houses we have stayed in through Coastal Escapes this was the best; for it's serene surroundings, views of the ocean and garden settings on the property,the comfort of the home. This is the fourth or fifth visit we've made to this home in Cambria just after Labor Day. As always, the weather was pleasant, in the low 70s. It's great to escape the heat of L.A. The home is very beautiful--lots of wood and lovely decor. The garden is amazing,though there are quite a number of steps to climb to reach the house--30 or so. The house borders an ecological preserve along the coast so we have a lot of solitude, which we enjoy. At the same time, it's a five-minute drive to the wonderful restaurants, shops, and galleries of Cambria and a 10 minute walk to a trail along the coastal bluffs. We really enjoy seeing the semi-tame deer walking the streets and yards in early morning and at dusk. This home is a real find for us.

The house on Randall was spectacular. We see why it has been referred to as a tree house. I have stayed in several homes for vacation and this is the best furnished home. As usual photos don't do this house justice. It's on the quietest street with panoramic windows in the living room and large bedroom. The oak antiques, stone fireplace and wood paneling and great variety of succulents make it charming & cozy. We loved sitting on the deck listening to KPIG. ;-)

From the kitchen, the great room, the bedroom or the deck you have an unobstructed view of the ocean. And the landscaping is wonderful -- cactus and succulent heaven!

Our only reservation is that the house was almost *too* pristine -- it's a perfect retreat for a couple but not the best place to lounge around if you had a large family or wanted to invite over friends.

Our second stay at this property. I love this home...wish it were mine! The location is ideal - in the trees with an ocean view from a wonderful deck, master bedroom and great room. Beautiful gardens. Very private. Interior is very tastefully decorated - upscale and yet homey. Kitchen and bathrooms recently remodeled (beautiful!) and gas fireplace added. Very well equipped. Not for handicapped as there are many stairs leading from the street and garage (two car) to reach the house (thus "tree house").We like to walk so we were able to walk to town but if you are not a walker, you willl need a car to reach town (short drive). My only criticism is of the bed in the second bedroom - new mattress and box spring needed. I would never stay anywhere else in Cambria! Thanks to the owners for allowing others to share the beauty of their home!

This is a house out of "House Beautiful" mag. Beautifully furnished and maintained. It has a gorgeous view of wooded hills and sea. Comfortable and clean. Only improvements needed are a stronger shower flow in the master bath and good instructions on keeping the gate closed to keep the lovely deer out of the garden. This house has a spectacular view of the ocean and the ranch lands! Set up high in the trees, you imagine that you are in a magical tree house, very secluded and secret! The gardens are stunning with a plethora of plants and wildlife. We saw deers prancing through the neighbors yard and got to know many species of birds up close and personal. The nighttime song of the seals lulled us to sleep every night and the brilliant light of the stars at was awe inspiring! A welcoming fireplace and a wall of windows that look out to unbelievable beauty. My husband and I have stayed in many different rentals throughout Cambria over the years but we both agree that this one is far and above the best! I can't say enough, it was perfect!
